Xpeng has launched the P7+, a new mid-to-large electric sedan, in China. According to Chinese outlet Dian Dong Bang, the model is positioned to revive the company's sales momentum, which has lagged behind rivals like Xiaomi. The P7+ is available in three trims, with the top 'Limited Max' edition limited to just 500 units.
Pricing and specs
The entry-level 'Long Range Max' starts at 186,800 yuan (about $26,300) and features a single rear motor producing 180 kW (241 hp) and 450 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds. It packs a 60.7 kWh battery with a CLTC range of 602 km. The mid-tier 'Ultra Long Range Max' costs 198,800 yuan (about $28,000) and upgrades to a 230 kW (308 hp) motor, cutting the sprint to 5.9 seconds, with a 76.3 kWh battery good for 710 km on the CLTC cycle. The top 'Limited Max' is priced at 218,800 yuan (about $30,800) and offers 685 km of CLTC range.
All prices are Chinese guide prices before taxes and incentives. For context, the CLTC range figures are roughly 15-20% more optimistic than the WLTP standard, so the 710 km CLTC rating likely translates to about 570-600 km WLTP (est.).
Standard equipment and intelligence
Xpeng has made a point of standardizing features across the lineup. Every P7+ comes with dual Orin chips, the XNGP advanced driver assistance system, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P cockpit chip, and the AI Tianji system. The car also includes Nappa leather seats, dual 50W wireless phone charging, a 15.6-inch center screen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and an 8-inch rear entertainment screen.
The suspension is a front double-wishbone and rear multi-link setup, with standard features like an electric tailgate, heated steering wheel, ventilated and massaging front seats, and a 20-speaker Xopera audio system. The Limited Max adds 20-inch black wheels, Alcantara upholstery, and exclusive badges.
Compared with the Xiaomi SU7, the P7+ undercuts its rival on price while offering similar or better specs in some areas. The P7+ Ultra Long Range Max is 17,100 yuan cheaper than the SU7's 700 km version, and it comes with more standard equipment. However, the SU7 offers a dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant with 495 kW (664 hp) and up to 830 km of CLTC range, which the P7+ cannot match.
The P7+ measures 5,056 mm long, 1,937 mm wide, and 1,512 mm tall, with a 3,000 mm wheelbase, similar to the SU7's dimensions. Dian Dong Bang suggests the P7+ is a compelling value proposition in the crowded mid-to-large EV sedan segment, competing with models like the Geely Galaxy E8, Leapmotor C01, and Lynk & Co Z10.
