Xpeng opens pre-sales for MONA L05 SUV from 169,800 yuan

Xpeng's MONA L05 mid-size SUV starts pre-sales at 169,800 yuan (about $23,900), offering BEV and EREV options with up to 660 km CLTC range.

Xpeng has opened pre-sales for its new MONA L05 mid-size SUV, priced from 169,800 yuan (about $23,900) to 191,800 yuan (about $27,000), according to NetEase Auto. The model, which expands the MONA family upward, targets young families seeking a spacious five-seater with advanced driver assistance at a mainstream price point.

Two powertrains, one platform

The L05 is offered in both pure electric (BEV) and range-extender (EREV) versions. The BEV variant achieves a CLTC range of up to 660 km (about 410 miles; WLTP est. around 560 km/348 miles), with 3C fast charging that can replenish 10% to 80% in as little as 14.7 minutes. The EREV version provides a CLTC electric-only range of up to 310 km (about 193 miles; WLTP est. around 263 km/163 miles) and a combined range of 1,310 km (about 814 miles). All prices are Chinese guide prices before taxes and incentives.

The vehicle rides on a 2,940 mm wheelbase, with overall dimensions of 4,870 mm long, 1,930 mm wide, and 1,636 mm tall. Cargo space ranges from 702 liters in the trunk to 1,913 liters with the rear seats folded, plus a 102-liter front trunk. The interior features a 17.3-inch 3K central touchscreen and a 26.8-inch head-up display instead of a traditional instrument cluster.

AI cabin and driver assistance

The L05 comes with Xpeng's Turing AI cockpit, which supports natural voice commands and can adjust seats, air conditioning, and other functions based on conversational cues. The driver assistance system, also branded Turing AI, includes lane-level navigation and 3D scene guidance, though Xpeng notes it is a driver-assist feature requiring the driver to remain attentive.

Pre-sale benefits include a 1,000 yuan deposit counting as 3,000 yuan toward the purchase price, and a discounted 20-inch wheel package. The L05 is positioned below Xpeng's premium models but above the earlier MONA L03, which has already seen strong market reception. Deliveries are expected to begin after the official launch.
