Xiaomi's new Pengcheng series includes the N70 and N90 range-extender SUVs, priced from 209,900 yuan, with the N90 Max Explorer adding a pop-up roof for camping.

Xiaomi has launched its new Pengcheng series of range-extender (EREV) SUVs in China, with two models—the N70 and N90—priced from 209,900 yuan (about $29,600). The announcement was made on September 7, 2026, according to NetEase Auto. The lineup targets families and outdoor enthusiasts, with the N90 Max Explorer featuring an electric pop-up roof that transforms the cabin into a two-story living space.

N70: a flexible five-seater

The N70 is a large five-seat EREV SUV available in Pro and Max trims. It measures 4,960mm long with a 2,950mm wheelbase, and its design emphasizes a flat floor and long sliding rails. The interior includes a 21.4-inch rear entertainment screen, a 9L refrigerator, and a 25-speaker Xiaomi audio system on the Max. The N70 offers 33 storage compartments and a 6.14m² glass area, with 95% soft-touch surfaces certified by OEKO-TEX for safety around young children.

Powertrain options include a 52kWh LFP battery with 351km of electric range and a combined range of 1,351km for the Pro (front-wheel drive, 0-100km/h in 7.9 seconds), and a 76kWh ternary lithium battery with 505km electric and 1,461km combined for the Max (dual-motor all-wheel drive, 0-100km/h in 5.5 seconds). The N70 can charge from 20% to 80% in 18 minutes, adding 310km in 15 minutes. The Max features five-level air suspension and continuously variable damping, with a turning radius of 5.67m and a braking distance of 38.25m.

Standard equipment includes Nvidia Thor-U chip with 700 TOPS, lidar, 4D millimeter-wave radar, and Xiaomi HAD driver assistance. The body uses up to 91.3% high-strength steel and aluminum, with 14 parts at 2,200MPa, nine airbags, and a wading depth of 650mm.

N90: seven seats and a pop-up roof

The N90 Max is a seven-seat flagship EREV SUV, 5,285mm long with a 3,080mm wheelbase, in a 2+2+3 layout. It offers zero-gravity seats, a 180mm aisle, and space for seven occupants plus seven 20-inch suitcases. The N90 Max has 464km of electric range and 1,705km combined, with dual-motor AWD and a 0-100km/h time of 5.9 seconds. It includes air suspension, six-screen connectivity, a rear solid-state lidar, 12 airbags, and a 750mm wading depth.

The N90 Max Explorer adds an electric pop-up roof, raising headroom to 2,294mm, allowing a 1.8-meter adult to stand. The second row converts to a bed in 30 seconds (1.87m x 1.24m), and the cabin includes a 30-inch projector, a floating bedside table, a 20L wardrobe, and an 11.5-inch vanity mirror. The floor is wood-grain aluminum with underfloor heating up to 38°C. Electric range is 462km, combined 1,688km, with the same 5.9-second sprint. The Explorer is positioned as a camping and mobile-office vehicle.

Both models are built on Xiaomi's Kunlun platform, which enables a flat floor and long sliding rails. Prices start at 209,900 yuan (about $29,600) as a Chinese guide price before taxes and incentives. The series aims to offer versatile space for commuting, travel, business, family, camping, and creative work, according to NetEase Auto.
