Volkswagen Anhui, the joint venture between Volkswagen and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group, has refreshed its ID. UNYX 08 electric SUV lineup in China, introducing five variants including a new Hunter Edition. The models are priced between 189,900 yuan and 249,900 yuan (about $26,700 to $35,200) as limited-time promotional prices, according to NetEase Auto.
Hunter Edition highlights
The new Hunter Edition, available in rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive forms, adds sporty styling and performance features. The AWD version pairs an 800-volt architecture with dual motors producing a combined 370 kW (496 hp), enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in 4.9 seconds. It includes a dual-chamber air suspension from Vibracoustic, ZF's DCC dynamic damping system, and Brembo four-piston front brake calipers.
All Hunter trims come with a blacked-out exterior theme, a gold VW badge, and orange accents, plus a wolf-head-shaped high-mounted brake light—a first for a Chinese-market vehicle. The SUV rides on 21-inch matte black wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires.
Standard equipment and pricing
The entry-level Pure trim, priced at 189,900 yuan, includes a CATL battery, dual Turing chips with 1,500 TOPS of computing power, a VLA 2.0 driver-assistance system, a 20-speaker audio system, and Brembo brakes. The Ultra Plus and Max Plus trims add a refrigerator, rear folding tables, and power-closing doors. Buyers can also get up to 8,000 yuan (about $1,127) in color options free until October 7.
The ID. UNYX 08 measures 5,000 mm long with a 3,030 mm wheelbase, positioning it as a mid-to-large five-seat SUV. It offers 953 mm of front-to-rear legroom and a 766-liter trunk that expands to 1,845 liters with seats folded. The cabin features a 10.25-inch instrument display and dual 14.96-inch 2.4K screens, powered by a Qualcomm 8295P chip.
Range figures are quoted under China's CLTC cycle: up to 730 km for the long-range version. That translates to roughly 585-620 km under the more realistic WLTP standard (est.). The 800-volt system supports peak charging at 315 kW, taking the battery from 10% to 80% in about 20 minutes.
The ID. UNYX 08 is Volkswagen Anhui's first flagship model, blending German-engineered chassis with local smart-driving tech. It includes 14 active safety systems, with AEB effective up to 150 km/h. The company also offers a three-year interest-free financing plan, with monthly payments starting at 818 yuan (about $115).
