Volkswagen Anhui resumes ID.与众 07 production after chip shortage resolved

Volkswagen Anhui has restarted full production of its ID.与众 07 electric sedan after resolving chip supply issues, easing delivery delays for waiting customers.

Volkswagen Anhui has resumed full production of its ID.与众 07 electric sedan after overcoming a chip supply shortage that had slowed output and extended customer wait times. The company announced the restart on September 17, thanking customers for their patience and confirming that the production line is now running at full speed, according to Gasgoo.

Chip shortage resolved, deliveries to ramp up

The ID.与众 07, a battery-electric (BEV) sedan built on Volkswagen's localized CEA electronic architecture, had seen strong order demand since its launch. However, a shortage of chip components disrupted production, leading to longer delivery times for customers. Volkswagen Anhui said that after coordinated efforts, the company has overcome the supply challenge and is now focused on accelerating production and delivery.

In its statement, Volkswagen emphasized that despite the push to catch up on orders, the company will maintain its German quality standards and will not compromise vehicle quality to speed up deliveries. The brand also said it will continue to update the market on production and delivery progress.

Delivery capability key in competitive market

In China's intensifying new-energy vehicle market, delivery capability has become crucial for automakers to maintain reputation and customer confidence. The resumption of full production for the ID.与众 07 is expected to ease delivery anxiety among customers and stabilize market expectations for this localized electric sedan. The pace of production ramp-up and monthly delivery figures will be closely watched in the coming months.
