Volkswagen Anhui ID.UNYX 06 Launches in China from 129,900 Yuan

Volkswagen Anhui's new ID.UNYX 06 electric coupe SUV starts at 129,900 yuan (about $18,300) in China, with up to 630 km CLTC range and a 25-sensor ADAS suite.

Volkswagen Anhui, the joint venture's China-focused brand, has launched the updated ID.UNYX 06 electric coupe SUV. The model is available in three trims, with Chinese guide prices before taxes and incentives ranging from 129,900 yuan (about $18,300) to 169,900 yuan (about $23,900). A special Lite version is priced at 119,900 yuan (about $16,900) during the Double 11 shopping festival, according to NetEase Auto.

Design and interior

The ID.UNYX 06 features a coupe SUV silhouette with a low nose and a sloping roofline ending in a small spoiler. Inside, the cabin is wrapped around the driver, with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch floating center touchscreen, a 12-inch passenger display, and a 27-inch augmented-reality head-up display. Sports seats with 12-way power adjustment are standard.

The vehicle is built on a platform developed by Volkswagen Anhui specifically for the Chinese market, retaining German-tuned chassis characteristics while incorporating locally developed driver-assistance software. This positions the model between domestic brands and traditional joint-venture offerings, the company says.

Powertrain and range

The ID.UNYX 06 is powered by a rear-mounted electric motor producing 170 kW (228 hp) and 345 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between two lithium iron phosphate battery packs: a 59.9 kWh unit offering a CLTC range of 515 km, or a 77.5 kWh pack with a CLTC range of 630 km. In WLTP terms, those figures would be roughly 15-20% lower, equating to an estimated 412-438 km and 504-536 km respectively.

The car is equipped with a Horizon Journey 6H chip and 25 sensing components, including 11 cameras, 12 ultrasonic radars, one millimeter-wave radar, and one lidar. It supports city NOA (navigation on autopilot), a form of advanced driver assistance for urban roads, along with full-scenario parking assist, a 360-degree camera, and a transparent chassis view. The system runs on a Cariad HS8 end-to-end large model and a GAIA 2.0 world model, enabling over-the-air updates.

The launch comes as Volkswagen Anhui deepens its localization strategy in China's competitive EV market. The ID.UNYX 06 aims to attract buyers who value German driving dynamics and practicality but expect mainstream-level intelligent driving features rather than cutting-edge autonomous capability.
