Stelato, the electric-vehicle brand co-developed by Huawei and BAIC, said its V9 flagship MPV has topped China's premium MPV segment for the fourth consecutive month. According to Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA), the V9 took more than 68% of the market for MPVs priced above 400,000 yuan (about $56,300) in September, cementing its lead in the high-end segment.
Strong sales since launch
The V9 went on sale on May 15, 2026, with a Chinese guide price range of 389,800 to 519,800 yuan (about $54,900 to $73,200), before taxes and incentives. It is Stelato's first flagship MPV, measuring 5,359 mm long with a 3,250 mm wheelbase. The vehicle comes standard with 38 sensors and is the industry's first MPV to feature a 896-line lidar.
Sales have been robust since launch. The V9 delivered 10,101 units in July and 8,312 units in August. By August 24, cumulative deliveries had surpassed 20,000 units, setting a record for the fastest delivery milestone among new-energy MPVs in the 500,000-yuan class, according to the company.
Order data shows that the Ultra and Ultra+ trims account for more than 70% of orders, with an average transaction price of 500,000 yuan (about $70,400), indicating strong demand for top-end configurations.
Long-term strategy
Zhao Changjiang, executive director and executive vice president of Stelato, said on social media that the brand is not chasing short-term sales spikes but aims to be a long-distance runner focused on sustainable operations. The V9's performance underscores Huawei's growing influence in China's premium MPV market, where it competes with traditional luxury brands and other domestic newcomers.
