Seres-backed AIVA ME7 electric coupe-SUV files with Chinese regulator, price expected at 200,000-250,000 yuan

The AIVA ME7, the first production model from Saidou Technology and built by Seres, has been filed with China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The electric coupe-SUV offers single- and dual-motor versions, features a Doubao large language model in the cabin, and is expected to be priced between 200,000 and 250,000 yuan.

The AIVA ME7, the first production model from Saidou Technology, has been filed with China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), according to PCauto. The electric coupe-SUV is manufactured by Seres, a company known for its partnership with Huawei on the Aito brand, and is expected to be priced between 200,000 and 250,000 yuan (about $28,200 to $35,200) before taxes and incentives, the outlet reports.

Design and dimensions

The ME7 adopts a fastback coupe-SUV silhouette with a rising waistline and a wide rear stance, giving it a sporty appearance. It measures 4,999 mm long, 1,999 mm wide, and 1,616 or 1,626 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,050 mm, placing it in the large SUV segment. The vehicle offers a range of wheel options, including 20-inch and 21-inch sizes, with two spoke designs and five styles to suit comfort or sporty preferences.

Powertrain and technology

Two all-electric versions are available: a single-motor variant with a peak output of 270 kW (362 hp) from Qingshan Industrial, and a dual-motor version that adds a 150 kW (201 hp) front motor from Jinkang Power. Both versions achieve a top speed of 255 km/h and are equipped with a ternary lithium battery from CATL. The ME7 is the first model in the AIVA series to enter production.

In the cabin, the ME7 integrates the Doubao large language model through a collaboration with Volcano Engine, enabling multimodal interactions, scenario-based services, and ecosystem connectivity. For driver assistance, the vehicle uses a map-free intelligent driving system developed with Yuanrong Qixing, covering urban roads and highways. Production is based at Seres' Fenghuang plant, leveraging its engineering and quality control systems.

PCauto notes that given the vehicle's size and powertrain specifications, industry observers widely expect the starting price to exceed 200,000 yuan, with most predictions clustering in the 200,000 to 250,000 yuan range.
