SAIC's Huayu and Huizhong open chassis supply chain event to recruit suppliers

SAIC-backed chassis maker Huayu Huizhong will host a supplier-focused technology exhibition on Oct 16 in Shanghai, seeking casting, forging and machining partners for new energy vehicle chassis projects.

Shanghai Huizhong Automotive Manufacturing, a core chassis subsidiary of SAIC's Huayu Automotive Systems, will host a supplier-focused technology exhibition on Oct 16 at its research and development building in Shanghai, according to Chinese outlet D1EV. The event, organized by Gasgoo, aims to build a direct channel between external suppliers and Huizhong's R&D, process and procurement teams.

Huayu Huizhong, as Huayu Automotive's key sub-enterprise, operates a national-level enterprise technology center and focuses on developing and producing subframes, suspension modules and other chassis products for multiple mainstream vehicle manufacturers. With new energy chassis projects landing and capacity expanding, the company is releasing significant demand for second- and third-tier outsourced supply chain work in casting, forging and machining, D1EV reported.

What the event covers

The exhibition is open to the full chassis supply chain, with a focus on recruiting innovative companies in suspension systems, axle systems, chassis structural parts, process components and chassis-related testing equipment. Technical directions span chassis blank machining, structural assemblies, stamping, forging and die-casting processes, precision machining, and material and durability testing equipment.

Attendees will include Li Jiangang, deputy general manager of SAIC's quality technology department; Qiu Haixuan, deputy general manager of Huizhong Automotive; Xu Lin, senior engineer and head of the chassis performance group at the vehicle and parts testing center of Shanghai Motor Vehicle Inspection; and Zhou Quan, deputy dean of Tongji University's School of Automotive and Energy.

The event combines technology displays, keynote speeches and closed-door discussions. Topics will cover intelligent chassis industry practice, new technology trends, industry standards and business access requirements. Exhibitors will be able to present products and technical solutions face-to-face with Huizhong's core business teams, with dedicated closed-door sessions for deeper engagement with chassis department directors and senior technical experts.

Selection process for suppliers

Participating suppliers can directly reach key decision-makers, shortening the path to commercial cooperation, according to D1EV. The event also offers brand exposure through on-site displays and industry media coverage, plus access to the latest technical roadmaps and procurement demands in the chassis field.

The exhibition sets a standardized selection process. Interested companies must submit applications, which then pass an initial review by Gasgoo followed by a second review by Huayu Huizhong's procurement and technical teams. Only after approval can companies confirm participation, complete product and personnel registration, and set up exhibits on the day.

With new energy vehicles evolving rapidly, chassis systems are moving toward lightweight and intelligent designs, making supplier collaboration increasingly important for established Tier 1 players like Huayu Huizhong. The event targets companies with technical strength seeking entry into a leading chassis supply chain.
