Roewe Jiayue 07 First Drive: 320 km CLTC Range, City NOA in a 150,000 Yuan SUV

Autohome's first drive of the Roewe Jiayue 07, a family-oriented EREV SUV priced around 150,000 yuan, highlights its 320 km CLTC electric range, Momenta-based city NOA, and a cabin packed with comfort features.

SAIC's Roewe brand is targeting the family SUV segment with the Jiayue 07, a range-extender electric vehicle (EREV) that combines a generous equipment list with advanced driver assistance. In a first drive report published by Chinese outlet Autohome, the model emerges as a value-focused contender in the roughly 150,000 yuan (about $21,100) bracket, before taxes and incentives.

The Jiayue 07's exterior was developed under Josef Kaban, the designer known for the Bugatti Veyron, and adopts a new design language that Autohome describes as full and substantial. The body measures 4,900 mm long, 1,910 mm wide, and 1,745 mm (or 1,753 mm with roof rails) tall, with a 2,908 mm wheelbase. Semi-hidden door handles and multi-spoke wheels complete the look.

Cabin and comfort

Inside, the Jiayue 07 follows the minimalist trend of modern EVs, featuring an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch 2.5K central touchscreen. A 15.6-inch rotating ceiling screen serves rear passengers. Autohome notes the extensive use of Italian suede on door panels, which it says feels finer than Alcantara. The infotainment system runs on the Doubao large language model, allowing rapid multi-command voice input and conversational interactions similar to the mobile app.

The cabin is equipped with a 7.5-liter dual-door refrigerator capable of making ice in 10 minutes, dual zero-gravity front seats with 16-point SPA massage (10-point back, 6-point cushion), ventilated seats, and 4-way electric thigh extensions. The right rear seat adds a 2-way electric leg rest with 70 degrees of adjustment, aimed at improving long-trip comfort for elderly passengers and children.

Powertrain and range

All versions use a range-extender setup: a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine acts as a generator, while a rear-mounted electric motor delivers 162 kW (about 217 hp). Autohome says performance is comparable to a 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine, with three drive modes offering distinct characteristics. The steering can be lightened in a custom mode for drivers who prefer less effort.

Two lithium iron phosphate battery options are offered. The long-range version packs a 44.2 kWh pack, giving a CLTC electric-only range of 320 km (WLTP est. 256-272 km) and a combined range of 1,480 km. Fast charging from 30% to 80% takes 15 minutes. The short-range version has a 32.6 kWh battery, good for 220 km on the CLTC cycle (WLTP est. 176-187 km). Autohome notes that a 40 km daily commute would require only a weekly charge.

The chassis uses MacPherson front and multi-link rear suspension, augmented by an AI mCDC pre-scan damping system that adjusts shock absorbers ahead of road conditions. Autohome found the tuning unexpectedly firm and sporty rather than soft, a departure from typical family SUV comfort.

Driver assistance strengths

The Jiayue 07's standout feature is its driver assistance suite, built on Momenta's R7 world model and including a lidar for city NOA (urban advanced driver assistance). Autohome tested it in Guiyang, a city with complex elevated roads, tricky ramps, and heavy mixed traffic of cars, scooters, and pedestrians.

In one scenario, the vehicle navigated a non-signalized asymmetric intersection with pedestrians crossing on both sides, braking promptly and accelerating once they cleared. It also handled a left-side merging car by slowing and judging the gap. On a road where the navigation route was blocked by queuing taxis, the system first crept through on the right, then on a second encounter decisively overtook on the left, improving efficiency.

On the highway, the Jiayue 07 overtook slow traffic before an exit and cut into the ramp at the last moment without hesitation. In a repeat situation, a motorcycle squeezed into the lane change space, yet the car still completed the exit smoothly without affecting following traffic. Autohome concluded that the Jiayue 07 packs high-level driver assistance and comfort features into a 150,000 yuan package, with the Doubao cabin adding emotional appeal, making it a compelling option for families seeking a fully equipped five-seat SUV.
