Onvo L80 Starlight Design Package Launches with Limited-Time Price of 10,080 Yuan

Onvo, Nio's mass-market brand, has introduced the Starlight design package for its L80 electric SUV, featuring a new Starry Blue exterior color and 21-inch wheels, priced at 16,800 yuan (about $2,366) with a limited-time offer of 10,080 yuan (about $1,420).

Onvo, the mass-market brand under Nio, has launched a new Starlight design package for its L80 electric SUV, according to NetEase Auto. The package, which introduces a new Starry Blue exterior color and 21-inch multi-spoke wheels, is priced at 16,800 yuan (about $2,366) as a Chinese guide price before taxes and incentives, with a limited-time promotional price of 10,080 yuan (about $1,420). It is available for the Pro, Max+, and Ultra+ trims, and 150 display vehicles have already arrived at dealerships nationwide.

The Starry Blue color is inspired by the night sky reflected on Chaka Salt Lake in Qinghai province, featuring a deep blue base with metallic pearl particles that create a starry effect under light. Onvo says the paint process involved three breakthroughs to achieve a balance between a calm dark tone in low light and a shimmering effect in bright conditions. The 21-inch wheels, named Xuanhui, are also designed with a star-trail motif.

Space and Versatility

The L80 is positioned as a flagship electric SUV with a length of 5,145 mm and a wheelbase of 3,110 mm. Onvo emphasizes a "1+1=N" spatial concept, highlighting a 240-liter electric front trunk—claimed to be the largest in China—and a 1,200-liter rear cargo area that expands to 2,600 liters with the second-row seats folded. The rear compartment includes a dual-layer floor with 106-liter and 63-liter sections for flexible storage. Over 80 original accessories, such as camping kits, pet seats, and a three-section bed, are designed to fit the dual-cabin layout.

The L80 is equipped with a 35-inch AR-HUD, a 17.2-inch 3K center display, a 17.3-inch rear ceiling screen, and an 8-inch rear scene screen, all powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P processor and Onvo's Coconut operating system. The vehicle also features Nio's self-developed 5nm Shenji NX9031 autonomous driving chip, which Onvo claims offers computing power equivalent to four Nvidia Orin X chips, enabling full-scenario navigation assistance (NOA) that covers parking lots, urban roads, highways, and battery swap stations. The L80 supports Nio's battery swap network of over 2,000 stations, including a city-wide no-sense swap function.

Performance and Chassis

The L80 is offered in rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions. The RWD variant produces 340 kW (about 456 hp) and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds, with energy consumption of 14.3 kWh per 100 km. The AWD version delivers 440 kW (about 590 hp), a 0-100 km/h time of 4.5 seconds, and consumption of 15.4 kWh per 100 km. The vehicle's curb weight is 2,250 kg for the RWD version, which Onvo says is the lightest in its class.

The L80 rides on a chassis with front double-wishbone and rear multi-link suspension, a 100-mm-travel air suspension, and continuously variable dampers. Nio's 4D comfort system uses lidar to preview the road and adjust suspension settings proactively. The SUV offers driving modes for wet, snow, mud, and sand conditions, with a ground clearance of 200 mm and a wading depth of 600 mm.

The Starlight design package is a styling option that does not alter the L80's core specifications. The L80 is part of Onvo's strategy to bring Nio's technology to a broader audience, and the new package aims to enhance the vehicle's appeal for both urban commuting and outdoor adventures.
