Mann+Hummel, the German filtration specialist, has been awarded the 2026 Gasgoo Gold Award for Best Technology Practice Application for its central air supply gas management module. The award, announced on October 23 at the eighth edition of the Gasgoo Gold Awards in China, recognizes technologies that successfully translate into engineering practice and vehicle value, according to Chinese outlet D1EV.
Addressing Industry Pain Points
Traditional central air supply systems in electric vehicles often suffer from low space utilization, high leakage risks, and inadequate deep dehumidification and noise control, impacting vehicle reliability and ride comfort. Mann+Hummel's module integrates cooling, water-air separation, deep drying, air storage, and noise reduction into a single unit, achieving triple-stage drying and high system integration. The module uses intelligent sensing and control to monitor air supply in real time, dynamically adjusting cooling and drying to match different operating conditions. It also features an automatic drainage system for energy efficiency and NVH composite noise reduction to minimize operational and drainage noise.
From Component Supplier to Solution Innovator
At the concurrent 14th Automotive and Environment Innovation Forum, Mann+Hummel's president of global passenger car business and China president, Xu Jie, discussed how Chinese automakers are moving toward a new competitive stage defined by system integration, continuous innovation, global resource allocation, and ecosystem building. He emphasized that companies creating real value must not only innovate but also convert innovations into user and business value. Mann+Hummel's transition from a single-component supplier to a solution innovator is exemplified by this module, which addresses vehicle-level reliability, space efficiency, and acoustic quality as a complete gas management unit.
