Li Auto's charging network logs 1.36 million sessions during Golden Week, non-Li Auto users make up nearly 60%

Li Auto's supercharging network handled 1.36 million charging sessions during China's National Day holiday, with non-Li Auto brand users accounting for nearly 60% of the usage, signaling the network's shift toward public infrastructure.

Li Auto's expanding supercharging network has become a public utility during China's National Day holiday, according to a report from Gasgoo. Between October 1 and 7, nearly 4,200 Li Auto charging stations across the country completed over 1.36 million charging sessions, delivering a total of 41.04 million kWh of electricity. That represents a 119% jump in sessions and a 110% rise in energy delivered compared with an average week, the company said.

The report, released on October 12, highlights how the network is moving beyond being a perk for Li Auto owners. During the holiday week, non-Li Auto electric vehicles accounted for roughly 60% of all charging sessions, with more than 810,000 sessions logged by other brands. Li Auto owners themselves contributed just over 550,000 sessions. The top three other brands using Li Auto's chargers were Tesla, Xiaomi, and Zeekr.

Highway dominance and fast charging

Li Auto's stations also played an outsized role on highways, contributing 16% of the nation's highway charging volume during the holiday. Highway service area charging exceeded 26.07 million kWh, and the busiest location, the Linghai service area on the Beijing-Harbin expressway (Beijing-bound direction), hit a peak of 830 sessions in a single day.

Charging speeds varied by vehicle type. Li Auto's own pure-electric and 5C-equipped extended-range models averaged 12.95 minutes per session on 5C chargers, while other brands' vehicles averaged 21.64 minutes. As of October 9, Li Auto operated 4,199 stations with 23,115 charging piles across 31 provinces and 294 cities, including 1,385 highway stations and 2,814 urban stations. The network includes 5,369 5C piles and 646 all-5C stations, all rated at 250 kW or higher.

Li Auto also deployed staff to more than 600 busy stations during the holiday to manage traffic and assist users, according to Gasgoo.

The company's role in holiday charging is growing in importance. Data from the National Energy Administration shows that highway EV charging across China totaled 163 million kWh during the same period, and Li Auto's network is increasingly shouldering a share of that load.
