Li Auto has unveiled the new-generation MEGA, its flagship electric MPV, at a single fixed price of 509,800 yuan (about $71,800) in China. The model, announced on September 2, is offered in only one trim called Home, with minimal options—a 10,000 yuan elephant gray paint and a 15,000 yuan 270-degree electric dimming glass—according to Chinese outlet 电动邦 (Dian Dong Bang).
One trim, full standard equipment
The decision to offer a single configuration is unusual in the 500,000-yuan MPV segment. Li Auto says it simplifies the buying process and lets the company focus resources on a single high-completion version. The standard equipment list is extensive: a 108 kWh ternary lithium 5C battery, dual-motor all-wheel drive, steer-by-wire with rear-wheel steering, an 800V active anti-roll suspension, dual Mach AI suites, OLED screens front and rear, and a 5,440-watt audio system.
The new MEGA retains the previous model's strengths—it was the best-selling MPV above 500,000 yuan in China, with a net promoter score of 81.8. The update focuses on cabin refinement, driving agility, and intelligent assistance.
Cabin and comfort upgrades
Inside, the new MEGA adds a Home Light ceiling lamp with 396 LEDs and 3,500K warm light, plus three separate skylights and five electric sunshades. The second-row rotating zero-gravity seats now feature a floating cushion layer extending from shoulders to legs, with Nappa leather in an air-diamond pattern. Both front seats are also zero-gravity, and all three rows have ventilation and heating. The car includes 31 heated areas, including armrests and door panels.
New electric folding tables in the second row self-level to avoid spilling drinks, and a combination dining table with a magnesium-aluminum frame folds into a small coffee table. The cabin aims to deliver a 'mobile home' feel, with details like touch controls for the main lamp.
Chassis and performance
The chassis upgrades address common MPV issues. Steer-by-wire and rear-wheel steering cut the turning radius from 6.2 meters to 5.5 meters, making the 5.3-meter-long vehicle easier to maneuver. The 800V active anti-roll bar responds in 30 milliseconds, reducing body lean during cornering. In an ISO 3888-1 test, the car completed a high-speed lane change at 120 km/h while maintaining stability.
A new 'Elephant Welcome' feature tilts the body 1.5 seconds to lower the sill by 3 cm and rotates the second-row seats 45 degrees for easier entry. The powertrain is carried over: dual motors produce 413 kW (about 554 hp) and 657 Nm, enabling 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds. The CLTC range is 710 km (about 604 km WLTP est.), with 5C charging adding 500 km in 10 minutes. The drag coefficient is 0.215, and energy consumption is 15.9 kWh per 100 km.
The new MEGA is equipped with two Mach M100 chips, four lidars, and a 360-degree vision system, supporting the latest Mach VLA 2.0 software for full-scenario navigation, automated parking, and auto-charging. The cabin features a 29-inch 6K OLED front screen and a 21-inch 4K OLED rear screen, along with a 33-speaker, 9.3.6 audio system.
The new MEGA measures 5,355 mm long, 1,965 mm wide, 1,850 mm tall, with a 3,300 mm wheelbase, seating seven in a 2-2-3 layout. Li Auto's strategy is to offer a fully loaded vehicle at a single price, reducing decision fatigue for buyers. The model is expected to appeal to families seeking a premium, practical EV with advanced technology.
