Li Auto has launched its new flagship electric SUV, the i9 Home, in China, priced at 369,800 yuan (about $52,100) for a single trim level. The model, which the company describes as a "new form of family flagship six-seat pure electric SUV," is the first vehicle built on Li Auto's second-generation BEV (battery-electric) platform, according to NetEase Auto.
Home-like cabin and family-focused features
The i9 Home is designed to offer a living-room experience inside an SUV body, with four full-size zero-gravity seats as standard. The second-row seats can rotate, and with an optional floating table, the cabin can be configured into three modes: Home Living Room, Home Cinema, and Home Suite. The second and third rows can face each other, accommodating family gatherings, movie watching, or rest.
To ease access to the third row, the i9 features a "one-step" mode and a rotating-door entry design, allowing the second-row seats to slide quickly. The third row can also slide electrically by 100 mm, and the boot offers a maximum depth of 690 mm with underfloor storage, ensuring space for large luggage even with all six seats occupied.
The cabin includes a full home-style lighting system, with welcome light carpets, door lights, and an armrest light strip that doubles as an open-door warning. Two interior color schemes are offered: light gray warm white and dark gray warm brown, with Nappa leather seats featuring air diamond quilting.
Performance, range, and charging
Under the body, the i9 Home is powered by a 101 kWh ternary lithium 5C ultra-fast charging battery and dual motors with a combined output of 400 kW (about 536 hp). The CLTC range is rated at up to 705 km (438 miles), which translates to an estimated WLTP figure of around 565-600 km (351-373 miles), accounting for the typical 15-20% difference. Li Auto claims 10 minutes of charging can add 500 km (311 miles) of range, thanks to the 800V architecture.
The SUV measures 5,225 mm in length, 1,970 mm in width, and 1,752 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,168 mm. It has a drag coefficient of 0.215, which Li Auto says is the lowest among production three-row SUVs globally, and a CLTC energy consumption of 15.1 kWh per 100 km.
Standard chassis equipment includes third-generation dual-chamber air suspension with CDC dampers, steer-by-wire, and rear-wheel steering, giving a turning radius of just 5.3 meters despite the large body. The vehicle is built with seven aluminum die-cast parts and comes with 11 airbags, including the longest side curtain airbag in a production SUV.
In terms of intelligence, the i9 Home features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8797 cockpit chip, a 29-inch 6K panoramic screen, and a sliding 21.4-inch 4K entertainment screen. It is the first Li Auto model to support Apple CarPlay, and native functions remain unaffected when CarPlay is active. The standard driver-assistance package includes one Mach M100 chip and UWB proximity sensing, with an optional dual-Mach M100 embodied intelligence package priced at 20,000 yuan (about $2,800) during the launch period (regular price 30,000 yuan, about $4,200). This adds three blind-spot lidar units. The Mach VLA 2.5 driver-assistance model is scheduled for an OTA update in October.
The i9 Home is available in eight paint colors, with five special shades free to choose if ordered before October 31. Optional extras include the Li Home theater sound system, electrochromic glass, and the floating table. Returning customers receive the theater sound system and 30,000 points as a gift.
The single Home trim bundles high-value hardware as standard, aiming to reduce decision complexity for family buyers. However, the 369,800 yuan price point is not low, and optional packages will push the final cost higher. The market response will depend on whether this SUV-with-MPV-cabin concept resonates with large families, as NetEase Auto notes.
