Jetour unveils Huanyouzhe, a 150,000-yuan boxy electric SUV with 550 km CLTC range

Jetour's first battery-electric SUV, the Huanyouzhe, targets China's 150,000-yuan segment with a boxy design, 67.2 kWh battery, and 550 km CLTC range. It launches in Q4 2026.

Jetour, the SUV-focused brand under Chery, has revealed its first battery-electric vehicle (BEV) — the Huanyouzhe, a boxy compact SUV aimed at China's 150,000 yuan (about $21,100) segment. According to NetEase Auto, which attended a static preview, the model is positioned as a "global urban new box" and targets young buyers who want city polish with occasional off-road capability. The vehicle is scheduled to launch in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Design: square shell, rounded details

The Huanyouzhe adopts a hard-edged, square silhouette but softens it with circular elements — a "square and circle coexist" approach. Up front, a closed grille is standard for an EV, with a black trim strip spanning the width and carrying the "JETOUR" lettering. The most distinctive feature is the pair of dual-round headlights with ring-shaped daytime running lights, blending retro and futuristic cues against the angular nose. The lower bumper is layered with vertical air intakes and a black surround to aid aerodynamics.

In profile, the boxy stance is evident: flat roofline, upright shoulders, and short overhangs. The body measures 4,605 mm long, 1,880 mm wide, and 1,700 mm tall, with a 2,735 mm wheelbase — close to B-segment SUV proportions. A width-to-height ratio of 0.89 and an axle-to-length ratio of 0.61 keep the stance balanced. Black plastic cladding runs around the lower body to shrug off scrapes on rough roads, while blacked-out mirror caps and roof rails add contrast. The photographed version is the all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant, riding on 19-inch five-spoke dual-tone wheels with 225/55 R19 tires.

At the rear, the design echoes the front with a full-width black trim and twin round taillights, plus an "AWD" badge on the left of the bumper confirming its four-wheel-drive identity. The tailgate is upright, and the high-mounted brake light sits in the roof spoiler.

Platform, battery, and tech

Beyond styling, Jetour highlights four pillars: looks, driving feel, smart features, and range. The Huanyouzhe rides on a native rear-wheel-drive electric platform, with chassis tuning by IDIADA, and buyers can opt for an XWD intelligent all-wheel-drive system. All versions come with a 67.2 kWh battery pack, which Jetour calls the "Rhino" battery, delivering a claimed CLTC range of 550 km (roughly 440-470 km WLTP, estimated). Note that CLTC figures are typically 15-20% more optimistic than WLTP results.

Inside, the SUV uses a Qualcomm 8775 cockpit-and-drive integrated chip, enabling both highway and city NOA (navigation on autopilot) — advanced driver assistance that handles lane changes and exits on mapped roads. Jetour says the combination of specs makes it a strong contender in the 150,000-yuan pure-electric SUV segment, though pricing has not been finalized.

The Huanyouzhe marks Jetour's entry into the BEV market, a significant step for a brand known for gasoline SUVs and crossovers. With its boxy design echoing popular models like the BYD Leopard 5 and the upcoming Chery iCar, Jetour is betting that a mix of retro styling, practical dimensions, and competitive range will win over buyers who want a rugged-looking EV for city life and weekend trips. The company has not yet released detailed trim levels or final pricing; those will come closer to the Q4 launch.
