Jetour Traveler 7 launches in China from 125,900 yuan, adds ADAS to petrol and hybrid versions

Jetour has launched the updated Traveler 7 SUV in China, with petrol and plug-in hybrid versions both featuring advanced driver assistance, priced from 125,900 yuan (about $17,700) before taxes and incentives.

Jetour, the SUV-focused brand under Chery, has launched the updated Traveler 7 in China, offering both petrol and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) versions with advanced driver assistance as standard. The new model, unveiled on October 14, is priced from 139,900 yuan (about $19,700) for the petrol version and 152,900 yuan (about $21,500) for the C-DM hybrid, according to the Chinese news outlet NetEase Auto. A limited-time promotional price brings the petrol version down to 125,900 yuan (about $17,700) and the hybrid to 143,900 yuan (about $20,300). All prices are Chinese guide prices before taxes and incentives.

Design and interior

The Traveler 7 retains the boxy, hard-edged design language of the Traveler family, with a mix of rugged and urban styling. It features circular LED headlights connected by a light bar, a body-colored front bumper, and a side-opening tailgate with a spare tire mounted on the rear. The interior uses a horizontal layout with soft-touch materials, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 15.6-inch 2.5K central touchscreen. Physical buttons are retained for off-road use, and the seats offer massage, ventilation, and heating functions.

Powertrain and ADAS

The petrol version is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, while the C-DM hybrid uses a 1.5-liter turbo engine with three electric motors and a 45.12 kWh battery from CATL. The hybrid produces a combined 575 kW (771 hp) and 835 Nm of torque, with a CLTC electric-only range of 251 km (156 miles) and a combined range of 1,400 km (870 miles). Note: CLTC range figures are typically 15-20% more optimistic than WLTP, so the WLTP estimate would be around 201-213 km (125-132 miles) for electric-only range.

Both versions come with the XWD all-wheel-drive system and a 7+X off-road mode selector. The petrol version features the Falcon 500 ADAS suite, while the C-DM version will offer Huawei's ADS 5 system in a future variant. Both systems support highway and urban NOA (city advanced driver assistance) functions, as well as automated parking.

The Traveler 7 is built on a body-on-frame-inspired structure with 80% high-strength steel and a torsional rigidity of 32,000 Nm/degree. The vehicle measures 4,827 mm long, 2,006 mm wide, and 1,875 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm.

With the Traveler 7, Jetour aims to offer a versatile SUV that works for daily commuting, family trips, and off-road adventures, according to NetEase Auto. The launch marks Jetour's effort to bring advanced driver assistance to both petrol and hybrid versions of its boxy SUV, a segment where such features are often reserved for electrified models.
