Hongqi launched its TianGong 07 electric sedan on October 10 with a limited-time price of 167,900 yuan (about $23,650), choosing a 70 km mountain road in Xinjiang's Bayanbulak as the backdrop instead of a conventional studio event. The mid-to-large BEV (battery-electric) sedan drove the entire route using its assisted driving system, climbing from around 1,000 meters to over 2,600 meters above sea level, according to the Chinese outlet 电动邦 (EV Kingdom).
The route included more than 80 hairpin turns, sections of gravel, and cliffs dropping up to 1,000 meters on one side. Hongqi said the TianGong 07's Siyuan ADAS 5.0 system handled the drive without any manual takeover, using a 384-line dynamically focusable LiDAR with a detection range of up to 600 meters. The system also completed a blind-drive segment where the windshield was covered, relying purely on sensors to navigate the curves.
Technology and interior
The Siyuan ADAS 5.0 uses a VLA (vision-language-action) world model combined with a multimodal foundation model, moving beyond rule-based driving logic. Hongqi said the system can identify obstacles such as livestock or falling rocks from more than 200 meters away and brake smoothly. It also includes features tailored for Chinese roads, such as automated three-point turns, smart waiting-zone handling, and ETC (electronic toll collection) gate recognition with speed control. The urban and highway assisted driving package is free for the lifetime of the vehicle.
Inside, the TianGong 07 is the first car in its price class to feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8397 cockpit chip, built on a 4nm process with 64GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The Lingxi 6.0 voice assistant responds in under 200 milliseconds, supports 60-second continuous dialogue and nine dialects, and runs on-device AI models that work without internet. A physical crystal knob controls over 95% of frequent functions, allowing drivers to adjust volume, temperature, or drive mode without looking away from the road.
Safety and pricing
Hongqi emphasized the car's safety credentials: a cage body with 74% high-strength steel, 2000MPa steel in key load paths, and a roof that can withstand nine tons of pressure. The TianGong Xuanjia battery pack, shared with the TianGong 08, exceeds national standards in water immersion, impact, and crush tests, with bottom impact resistance more than double the national requirement. The car also features an AES (automatic emergency steering) system that can detect low-reflectivity and small obstacles from over 220 meters and brake to a stop from 120 km/h.
The TianGong 07 measures about 5 meters in length with a 3-meter wheelbase, offering what Hongqi claims is an 85.1% cabin space efficiency. It comes with 20mm slow-rebound foam seats, a 17.3-inch 3K central display, and an 18-speaker BOSE audio system. A four-wheel-drive version adds a magic-carpet suspension with road preview. The car is built on an 800V platform, allowing a 10% to 80% fast charge in as little as 12 minutes.
The limited-time price of 167,900 yuan applies to orders placed and locked by the end of October, combining deposit expansion and purchase tax subsidies. The regular guide price was not disclosed in the source. The launch event on the Bayanbulak road was intended to demonstrate the real-world capability of the Siyuan ADAS system, positioning the TianGong 07 as a practical family sedan in the competitive 200,000-yuan segment.
