Hongqi Tiangang 07 launches in China from 167,900 yuan, touts ADAS on Bayanbulak roads

Hongqi's new Tiangang 07 BEV sedan launched in China with three trims priced from 167,900 yuan (about $23,600) during a limited-time promotion. The car features an 800V platform, up to 730 km CLTC range, and the Hongqi Sinan driver-assistance system, which the brand demonstrated on a challenging 70 km route in Xinjiang's Bayanbulak region.

Hongqi has launched the Tiangang 07, a mid-to-large battery-electric sedan (BEV) under its Tiangang sub-brand, in China with three trim levels. The 640 Max version carries an official guide price of 187,900 yuan (about $26,500), while the 730 Ultra is priced at 192,900 yuan (about $27,200) and the 680 AWD Ultra at 217,900 yuan (about $30,700). Customers who place and lock orders by the end of October can access limited-time prices starting at 167,900 yuan (about $23,600), according to NetEase Auto.

All figures are Chinese guide prices before taxes and incentives. The launch was accompanied by a live-streamed demonstration in which the Tiangang 07 drove a roughly 70 km route from Haermodun Town to Daleng Daban in Xinjiang's Bayanbulak region, climbing from 1,146 metres (3,760 ft) to 2,612 metres (8,570 ft) in elevation. The route included gravel switchbacks, continuous hairpin turns, and unpredictable conditions such as crosswinds and livestock crossing the road.

ADAS and interior tech

The Tiangang 07 is equipped with Hongqi's Sinan driver-assistance system, which uses a 384-line dynamic focus-variable lidar with a claimed detection range of up to 600 metres (1,969 ft). According to official materials cited by NetEase Auto, the system can identify low-reflectivity, small, and irregular obstacles at 220 metres (722 ft). During the challenge, the vehicle demonstrated obstacle recognition, deceleration, and avoidance when faced with cattle crossing the road and falling rocks. The livestream also included a test where the driver's view was blocked, relying on the lidar and camera fusion to continue navigating curves.

Inside, the Tiangang 07 runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8397 chip built on a 4nm process, paired with 64GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The Lingxi Cockpit 6.0 system boots in 3.5 seconds after detecting the key, responds to voice commands in under 200 milliseconds, supports up to 60 seconds of continuous dialogue, and recognises nine Chinese dialects. A 17.3-inch 3K central touchscreen and an 18-speaker Bose 3DX surround-sound system with headrest speakers are standard, and the car retains physical controls such as a crystal rotary knob for 95% of frequently used functions.

Powertrain, range, and safety

All Tiangang 07 trims feature an 800V high-voltage platform with silicon-carbide electric drive. The official maximum range is 730 km (454 miles) on the CLTC cycle, which is typically 15-20% more optimistic than the WLTP standard, so a realistic estimate would be around 585-620 km (364-385 miles) WLTP. Charging from 10% to 80% takes as little as 12 minutes under optimal conditions, the company said.

The chassis was tuned with input from Martin Wall, a former German luxury brand engineer, and includes intelligent damping with active preview and an anti-motion-sickness mode. Hongqi claims a shortest braking distance of 33.6 metres (110 ft) from 100 km/h (62 mph). The battery, called Tiangang Xuangjia, has passed bottom-impact, crush, and water-immersion tests, according to official materials. The body uses a 9H4M cage structure with 74% high-strength steel and 2000MPa ultra-high-strength steel in key load paths, with a roof crush resistance of 9 tonnes. The interior uses PVC leather with zero formaldehyde and zero odour, with VOC levels at one-third of the national limit.

The Tiangang 07 measures 5,000 mm (197 in) long with a 3,000 mm (118 in) wheelbase, and Hongqi claims a space utilisation rate of 85.1%. The front passenger seat offers 18-way electric adjustment and can recline to form a rest space of about 1.6 metres (5.2 ft). A 1.87-square-metre panoramic sunroof blocks 99.9% of ultraviolet rays, and acoustic glass helps reduce cabin noise.

The launch positions the Tiangang 07 as a family-oriented BEV that balances driver assistance, cabin experience, charging speed, safety, and space, rather than focusing solely on one feature. With the limited-time price starting below 170,000 yuan, it enters a competitive segment, but long-term success will depend on real-world performance of the ADAS and charging systems, NetEase Auto noted.
