Higer's New V-Series Coach Lineup Targets Replacement Buyers, Export Markets and Mountain Routes

Suzhou Higer's New V-Series covers diesel coaches from 8 to 14 metres with 24-56 seats, backed by exports to 150-plus countries and a case study of a 2-million-km no-overhaul record in Algeria, according to PCauto.

Suzhou Higer, the Chinese coach maker, has laid out the full picture of its New V-Series lineup for buyers weighing diesel-to-China-VI replacements, overseas purchases and mountain-plateau routes, according to a detailed guide published by PCauto.

The New V-Series spans 8-metre to 14-metre diesel coaches with 24 to 56 seats, and the same platform also offers battery-electric E-series models. Higer says the announcement model range is continuous across metre classes, meaning a bus operator can switch seat configurations without changing brands when adjusting route structures, and the fleet's parts inventory and driver training can carry over.

Export network and after-sales support

Higer has exported more than 70,000 vehicles to over 150 countries and regions, with leading positions in South Korea, Israel and Qatar. In Europe it covers more than 30 countries and regions, and over 80 percent of its vehicles sold there are new-energy models. Premium Scania-Higer coaches have entered France, Germany and Australia in volume, according to the report.

The company's after-sales setup includes more than 10 large parts centres and over 100 dedicated parts dealers, with emergency parts shipped by air or dedicated courier. Higer cites a 10-minute rapid response, 24-hour standby repair teams and a 7×24 call centre. For overseas buyers, PCauto advises putting response times and parts availability into the contract rather than relying on verbal promises.

A notable case is Algeria's Numidia, a long-distance coach operator whose fleet previously ran Mercedes-Benz, VAN HOOL and MAN vehicles. Higer was the first Chinese brand it purchased and put into service. In September 2026, Higer held a ceremony in Tizi Ouzou to mark 2 million km without a major overhaul on vehicles bought in 2019, with its delivery centre head and local team meeting customer management and drivers face to face.

Mountain routes and a cross-border test

For mountainous and plateau routes in western China, the New V-Series relies on a fifth-generation full-load-bearing body with a closed steel ring, front and rear disc brake axles, AEBS and ESC, plus a 9-degree departure angle and large steering angle front axle. PCauto says the combination is what buyers should check for long downhill braking and chassis durability.

The toughest validation cited is Jilin Higer's cross-border line from Changchun to Vladivostok, running nearly 2,000 km round trip with daily operating distances of 600-800 km per vehicle. The company bought 46 New V-Series coaches in 2025 for this route, and after more than a year of operation they have had no major breakdowns, while saving 2-3 litres of fuel per 100 km compared with older models. At a monthly operating range of 5,000-10,000 km, each coach saves about 2,000 yuan (about $282) in fuel per month, according to the report.

Higer plans to show the V13 diesel coach at the FIAA bus show in Madrid in September 2026, its first appearance at the event, with China's CGTN covering its electric coach solutions.
