Great Wall Motor (GWM) has launched the H10, a large plug-in hybrid (PHEV) SUV with a boxy off-road look and a six-seat cabin, priced from 201,800 yuan (about $28,400) as a limited-time replacement offer in China, according to Autohome. The model sits at the top of GWM's SUV line-up and is aimed at families who want both daily comfort and weekend adventure capability.

Big body, quick sprint
The H10 measures 5,138 mm (202.3 in) long, 2,050 mm (80.7 in) wide and 1,970 mm (77.6 in) tall, with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm (118.1 in). It is offered in five- and six-seat configurations. The design language, called "方鼎美学" (Fangding aesthetics), features straight lines and angular surfaces, with an olive-shaped roof profile and four-matrix LED headlights that the company says illuminate more than 200 metres ahead.

Under the body sits a plug-in hybrid powertrain. GWM claims a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time of 4.9 seconds and a pure-electric range of 227 km (141 miles) on the CLTC cycle. The combined range is quoted at 1,404 km (872 miles) on CLTC. For comparison, a WLTP estimate would be roughly 15-20% lower, so buyers should expect around 190 km (118 miles) of electric-only range and about 1,190 km (740 miles) combined in real-world conditions.

The H10 also comes with an electrically controlled mechanical rear differential lock, a feature usually reserved for hardcore off-roaders, which should help on slippery or uneven terrain.

Cabin tech and space
Inside, the H10 features a 29-inch head-up display that can show off-road parameters and navigation, and a 17.3-inch ceiling-mounted entertainment screen for rear passengers, adjustable between 90 and 110 degrees with anti-pinch protection. The infotainment system runs GWM's Coffee GPT large language model, supporting voice commands in Mandarin, Cantonese and the Sichuan dialect, with child voice recognition that filters age-appropriate content.
A 7.7-litre smart fridge with a temperature range from -6°C to 50°C is fitted, and the front seats offer ventilation, heating, 10-point massage and headrest speakers. Second-row seats have ventilation, heating, massage, a 60-degree adjustable leg rest and a 180 mm slide rail, plus a 192 mm central aisle for access to the third row. The third row is described by Autohome as adequate rather than luxurious, with limited equipment but enough space for daily use.
Boot capacity is 316 litres with all seats up, expanding to 1,056 litres with the third row folded, enough for 15 carry-on suitcases, according to the review.
The H10 is a key model in GWM's push to cover the 200,000-yuan (about $28,000) PHEV segment, where it competes with BYD's Tang and other large SUVs. GWM has not yet announced export plans for the H10, but the brand's overseas network in Europe, Australia and Southeast Asia could see it arrive outside China in the future.
