Geely has unveiled the fourth-generation Boyue L petrol series, a comprehensive refresh of its best-selling fuel SUV, according to Chinese outlet 电动邦 (Dian Dong Bang). The new model builds on the Boyue family's decade-long legacy, which has accumulated over 2.45 million global customers, with one new owner every 2.3 minutes on average, and has been the top-selling A-segment fuel SUV in China for 13 consecutive months.
Five key upgrades
The new Boyue L petrol series introduces five major improvements: a new 1.5TD Pro high-output engine, the Qianli Haohan H5 driver assistance system, the Flyme Auto AI smart cabin, a redesigned exterior with two new colors (Danyxia Red and Xueshan Gold), and enhanced comfort features. The car is built on Geely's CMA global architecture and includes over 200 functional upgrades, with 25 exclusive features in its class, such as CCD variable damping suspension, lidar, double-layer laminated glass, and rear privacy glass.
In terms of performance, the new 1.5TD Pro engine delivers a maximum power of 148 kW (about 198 hp) and a peak torque of 315 Nm, representing an 11.3% power increase and an 8.6% torque boost over its predecessor. The vehicle accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 8.60 seconds. Despite the power gains, WLTC combined fuel consumption is as low as 6.69 L/100km, thanks to Geely's Joule Engineering and Mirror Engineering technologies. The engine has undergone 350,000 km of extreme durability testing and is projected to last 1.2 million km without major overhauls.
Smart features for fuel cars
The Boyue L petrol series is among the first fuel vehicles to offer advanced driver assistance typically found in EVs. It features the Qianli Haohan H5 system, which includes a lidar sensor, three millimeter-wave radars, 11 high-definition cameras, and 12 ultrasonic radars, totaling 27 sensors. This setup enables urban NOA (city advanced driver assistance), highway NOA, and HPA cross-floor memory parking, all powered by an end-to-end large model architecture. The system is exclusive to fuel SUVs under 300,000 yuan (about $42,300).
Inside, the Flyme Auto 2.5 AI cabin pairs a 15.4-inch 2.5K central display with a 25.6-inch AR-HUD. The Xingrui AI large model powers voice interaction, supporting emotional dialogue, complex intent control, and trip planning. The cabin also includes heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats with leg rests, plus heated rear seats and rear privacy glass as standard. The vehicle achieves an 84.27% interior space efficiency rate, with 32 storage compartments, and NVH performance improved by 16% thanks to double-layer laminated glass.
Safety remains a priority, with 32 active safety functions, eight passive safety features, and multiple air purification systems. The new Boyue L petrol series is positioned alongside the i-HEV hybrid variant, which was showcased at the Chengdu Auto Show, creating a dual-model lineup to serve fuel SUV customers in China's increasingly electrified market.
