Geely Galaxy Xingyuan hits 1 million units, priced from 61,800 yuan

Geely's A0-class BEV Xingyuan reached its 1 millionth unit off the line on Oct 20, about two years after launch. The current model, updated May 28, starts at 61,800 yuan (about $8,700) with limited-time pricing, featuring upgraded infotainment and ADAS.

Geely's compact electric hatchback, the Galaxy Xingyuan, has reached a production milestone of 1 million units, with the 1 millionth car rolling off the line on October 20, according to PCauto. The model, which launched in October 2024, took roughly two years to achieve this volume, making it one of the few A0-class battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) in China to cross the seven-figure mark.

Pricing and updates

The current Xingyuan, which went on sale on May 28, is offered in six trims with a Chinese guide price range of 64,800 to 94,800 yuan (about $9,100 to $13,400), before taxes and incentives. A limited-time promotional price brings that down to 61,800 to 91,800 yuan (about $8,700 to $12,900).

Styling carries over from the previous model, retaining the smiling front fascia, LED headlights, 16-inch petal wheels, and floating roof. Eight ice-cream-inspired body colors are available, with interior choices of taro white and star gray. The cabin offers a claimed 85% space efficiency, a 70-liter front trunk, a 10-liter passenger drawer, and a rear cargo area that expands from 375 to 1,320 liters, along with 36 storage compartments.

Inside, the symmetrical cockpit design remains, but the gear selector has moved to a steering-column-mounted electronic shifter, freeing up space in the center console. The infotainment system is upgraded to Galaxy Flyme Auto 2, running on the Longying 1 chip, with a 14.6-inch floating touchscreen on mid and high trims (smaller on base versions) and an 8.8-inch embedded instrument cluster across the range. The system supports voice control via Hi Eva and is compatible with Flyme Link, CarPlay, HUAWEI HiCar, and Carlink.

Powertrain and safety

Two rear-mounted electric motor options are available, producing 58 kW (78 hp) or 85 kW (114 hp), both driving the rear wheels. The base 310 km (CLTC) version has been upgraded to 410 km, and the 410 km version now offers 480 km (CLTC). Note that CLTC figures are typically 15-20% more optimistic than WLTP; estimated WLTP ranges would be around 330-390 km for the 410 km version and 390-410 km for the 480 km version.

All versions come with CATL cells, liquid cooling, and an 11-in-1 intelligent electric drive, enabling a 30-80% fast charge in 19 minutes. The Xingyuan is the first compact EV to pass both frontal and side continuous collision tests, with AEB braking from 120 km/h and AES active avoidance at 130 km/h. It features six airbags, a 149 mm battery-to-sill gap, and high-voltage emergency cable cutting.

Standard ADAS includes the Qianli Haohan H3 system with 128 TOPS of computing power, supporting highway NOA (navigation on assisted driving) and over 200 km of full-scenario takeover. The auto-parking function covers more than 300 parking scenarios, with memory parking up to 2 km and a sentry mode.
