Geely's Galaxy brand has opened pre-sales for the Warship 700, a new AI-powered off-road SUV that introduces several industry-first safety and off-road technologies, according to Chinese tech outlet Kuaikeji. The model, unveiled at a pre-sale event on September 15, is the first hardcore off-roader from the Galaxy lineup.
Off-road tech highlights
The Warship 700 comes with a low-orbit satellite communication system, leveraging Geely's satellite network that covers most of the globe except the polar regions. This ensures connectivity even in remote areas with no cellular coverage. The vehicle also features an emergency floating system that uses sonar and dual thrusters to navigate through water at up to 7 km/h (4.3 mph), thanks to an 800 mm wading depth and IPX8 waterproofing.
For high-altitude driving, the SUV includes a vehicle-grade oxygen generation system with both nasal and diffuse modes, automatically activating above 2,500 meters and adjustable from 30% to 95% oxygen concentration. A "camp sentinel" mode uses millimeter-wave radar and cameras to create three security rings at 2, 5, and 10 meters around the vehicle when camping.
Safety and structural features
On the passive safety front, the Warship 700 is equipped with the GVMC 3.0 intelligent chassis control, which can stabilize the vehicle within 0.5 seconds in a simulated high-speed collision scenario at 125 km/h (78 mph). In a demonstration video, the SUV maintained control and slowed down safely after dual blowouts on one side at 140 km/h (87 mph). The body features a low center of gravity and hidden roll cage, with a roof strength rated to withstand 16 tons of pressure.
The Warship 700 is positioned as a premium off-road offering. While no official price was announced in the report, industry observers expect it to compete in the high-end SUV segment. Geely has not yet released full specifications, including powertrain details or range figures.
The pre-sale launch underscores Geely's push into the rugged SUV niche, where it faces rivals like BYD's Fangchengbao and Great Wall Motor's Tank series. The Warship 700's combination of satellite communication, amphibious capability, and high-altitude oxygen support targets adventure-minded buyers who venture into extreme environments.
