Geely's Galaxy brand has opened pre-sales for its first hardcore off-road SUV, the Warship 700, with prices starting at 199,800 yuan (about $28,100) and reaching 389,800 yuan (about $54,900) for the top trim, according to NetEase Auto. The model, unveiled on September 15, is offered in six variants, including a limited 'Land Ark' edition capped at 700 units.
Powertrain and performance
The Warship 700 is powered by Geely's Thor EM-T all-wheel-drive hybrid system, combining a 1.5T (120 kW) or 2.0T (160 kW) engine with a tri-motor setup. Total system output reaches 830 kW (about 1,128 hp), with peak torque at the wheels of 13,920 Nm. The high-spec version sprints from 0-100 km/h in 3.95 seconds and achieves an 80 km/h moose test speed, balancing off-road punch with highway stability.
All variants come with a 47.14 kWh CATL lithium iron phosphate battery, delivering a CLTC electric-only range of 305 km. (That's roughly 244-259 km under the more conservative WLTP cycle, estimated.) The battery supports 800V fast charging, and combined range with a full tank and charge exceeds 1,200 km, with some real-world tests reportedly reaching over 1,700 km.
Off-road capability and interior
The Warship 700 uses a body-on-frame integrated structure with a torsional stiffness exceeding 40,000 Nm/deg. It features approach and departure angles of 30 and 31 degrees, a minimum ground clearance of 233 mm, and a wading depth of up to 800 mm. A rear mechanical differential lock engages in 200 milliseconds, amplifying torque to a single wheel by 200% to 9,000 Nm. The SUV also includes an emergency float mode that activates when water depth exceeds 800 mm, allowing low-speed aquatic travel for up to 40 minutes.
Inside, the cabin blends tech with ruggedness, featuring a large floating central screen, a full-width digital instrument cluster, and a five-screen interactive system. Physical buttons and a mechanical gear shifter are retained for off-road blind operation. Comfort amenities include a dual-open 18.5L refrigerator, 14-way massaging front seats, a 0.99-square-meter panoramic sunroof, and headrest speakers. A hidden roll cage enhances safety without compromising space.
Dimensions are 5,085 mm long, 1,999 mm wide, and 1,895 mm tall (some versions are 1,912 or 1,925 mm), with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm. The exterior adopts a 'Chinese lion' design language with a lit logo, orange accents, and a factory tow hook, while six nature-themed colors—such as Danxia orange and Sayram Lake blue—are offered.
The SUV is equipped with the G-ASD Qianli Haohan driver assistance system, including a roof-mounted lidar, supporting highway navigation assist, automated parking, and sentry mode. An AI all-terrain digital chassis pre-sets 17 driving modes, including crab walk and a 'waltz' turn that reduces the turning radius to 3.36 meters.
The Warship 700 is positioned as a family-oriented hardcore SUV that balances off-road capability with low commuting consumption, with a claimed fuel consumption of 5.95 L/100 km when the battery is depleted.
