GAC Group and Huawei's Qiankun division have opened pre-sales for the Qijing GX7, a large five-seat SUV that launches in China this month. The GX7 is offered in three extended-range electric (EREV) variants, with prices ranging from 249,900 yuan to 311,900 yuan (about $35,200 to $43,900), according to Chinese outlet Dian Dong Bang.
Space and flexibility
The GX7 measures 5,099 mm long with a 3,070 mm wheelbase, positioning it among the largest SUVs in its class. Its defining feature is a 20-second one-touch flat-bed mode: the rear seats fold completely flat to create a 180-degree bed without removing luggage or adding a mattress. The system retains space for two 24-inch or four 20-inch suitcases, and the cabin offers 855 mm of vertical space, allowing adults to sit upright. The vehicle supports more than 12 seating configurations, including a single-person bed mode and an extended 2.56-meter bed for three.
Inside, the GX7 features a HarmonySpace 6 cockpit with dual 15.6-inch Huawei displays, a 32-inch 2K laser projector for rear passengers, and a 21-speaker HUAWEI SOUND system. The "one car, ten screens" setup includes a magnetic foldable lens that can project a 46-inch outdoor screen for camping. An in-cabin sensing system monitors children, with features like child lean-out alerts and automatic seat adjustment.
Performance and safety
The GX7 is built on Huawei's Qiankun Chitu platform, with all-aluminum construction, a rear H-arm suspension, dual-chamber air springs, and continuously variable damping. The top triple-motor version delivers 550 kW (about 738 hp) and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, making it the fastest EREV SUV under one million yuan, according to the company. The vehicle achieves an 81.6 km/h moose test speed and a 122 km/h high-speed wet double-lane-change result.
For driver assistance, the GX7 comes with an architecture ready for L3 autonomous driving, featuring redundant power, steering, braking, communication, positioning, computing, perception, and interaction systems. It is equipped with four lidar units and five 4D millimeter-wave radars, among 38 sensors total. The parking system supports over 1.2 million parking lots nationwide, with features like narrow-road avoidance and gesture-based parking.
The GX7 uses an 800V electrical architecture, enabling a 30-80% fast charge in 10 minutes. CLTC pure-electric range is 385 km (WLTP est. ~310-330 km), and combined range exceeds 1,500 km. The EREV powertrain consumes 4.85 liters per 100 km when the battery is depleted. Safety features include a cage body with 90.3% high-strength steel and aluminum, an A-pillar with 2,200 MPa hot-formed tubing, 11 airbags, and a battery pack co-developed with CATL and Huawei, featuring 26-layer protection and real-time monitoring.
Pre-sale benefits include a 1,999 yuan deposit that counts as 5,999 yuan toward the purchase, free exterior colors, a discounted rear-seat comfort package, and lifetime warranty for the first owner. The GX7 enters a competitive segment against models like the Li Auto L-series and Aito M7, aiming to redefine the large five-seat SUV category with its flexible space and advanced technology.
