Foton delivers 13 millionth vehicle in Europe, unveils new heavy truck

Foton Motor delivered its 13 millionth vehicle in Europe at the 2026 IAA Transportation show in Hanover, and showcased its new Cavin BEACON heavy truck for the first time outside China.

Foton Motor has handed over its 13 millionth vehicle globally at the 2026 IAA Transportation show in Hanover, Germany, with the milestone model being the Auman Galaxy 9, which is now on sale in Spain, according to Chinese outlet Gasgoo. The company also gave the Cavin BEACON heavy truck its overseas debut at the event, which runs through late September.

Foton brought seven new-energy vehicles to the show to address diverse European market needs, spanning plug-in hybrid, battery-electric and hydrogen powertrains. The lineup included the Auman Galaxy 9 PHEV (plug-in hybrid) version, the Cavin BEACON, the Ouhang EHL low-entry sanitation truck, the Qimingxing, the Cavin Lefu, the Mars 9 PHEV and the Ouhui 12-meter city bus. The Auman Galaxy 9 has completed on-road testing in Spain, and the Cavin Lefu has already reached commercial deployment overseas.

Cavin BEACON targets long-haul routes

The Cavin BEACON, shown publicly for the first time outside China, is designed for long-distance freight and natively supports both battery-electric and hydrogen fuel-cell powertrains. It features a sail-inspired body with a drag coefficient of 0.28, a floor height of 1,450 mm, and a cabin volume of 12 cubic meters. The battery-electric version offers a range exceeding 600 km (about 373 miles), while the hydrogen version exceeds 1,000 km (about 621 miles). The vehicle's battery B10 life reaches 2 million km, and the fuel-cell and e-axle core assemblies exceed 1.6 million km B10 life.

Foton also displayed its in-house developed core components, including heavy-duty battery packs, heavy-duty electronic control units, heavy-duty e-axles, light-duty e-axles, low-voltage vehicle controllers and megawatt-level charging piles. The company's parallel-axis and coaxial e-axles achieve peak efficiencies of 93.5% and 94%, respectively, and its battery packs can support 1.44 MW ultra-fast charging.

Europe strategy expands to 20 countries

At the show, Foton unveiled a new Europe strategy. Its sales network now covers nearly 20 European countries, and the company plans to achieve full coverage of core European markets by 2028. In terms of service and spare parts, Foton has set up a regional parts center in Germany, with parts warehouses in 17 countries now operational and more than 300 authorized service points across Europe.

Foton's global expansion has accelerated in recent years: it reached 10 million cumulative vehicles produced and sold in 2021, rolled out its 12 millionth vehicle at a Brazil plant in 2025, and now the 13 millionth vehicle has arrived in Europe.
