Dongfeng Forthing unveils TK series at Paris Motor Show, targets global markets

Dongfeng Liuzhou's Forthing brand launched its new TK series at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, starting with the TK5 and TK7 models, as part of its push into Europe and other global markets.

Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor's passenger vehicle brand Forthing (FORTHING) used the 2026 Paris Motor Show, which opened on October 12 at the Porte de Versailles exhibition center, to unveil its all-new TK series. The lineup, presented under the theme "FOR THINGS THAT MATTER," marks the brand's latest step in expanding its new-energy vehicle offerings beyond China, with Europe as the first stop before rolling out to the Middle East, Africa, South America and Southeast Asia, according to NetEase Auto.

TK5 and TK7 lead the charge

The TK series comprises two complementary models. The TK5 targets younger urban buyers with a sporty design and a smart, comfortable cabin. It will be offered in both battery-electric (BEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) versions, with the electric variant featuring 800V fast charging to ease range anxiety. The TK7, aimed at larger families, offers flexible seating for five to eight passengers and 37 storage compartments. It comes with 6.6kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability for outdoor activities, and claims a range of 500 kilometres for the electric version and 1,100 kilometres combined for the hybrid, making it suitable for both city commutes and long trips.

Dongfeng Liuzhou explained that the "T" in TK stands for Technology and "K" for Kinetic, symbolizing a focus on cutting-edge technology and continuous innovation. The company said it has been developing and tuning vehicles for different markets since launching its "Chengfeng Shuangqing" (Riding the Wind, Dual Power) plan in June 2025, which emphasizes localization in products, channels and services.

From product exports to ecosystem exports

Also on display was the V9 PHEV camping version, which extends the MPV's use from business shuttling to leisure camping with features like a pop-up roof bed, convertible large bed and side tent. A technology zone showcased core powertrain components including engines, hybrid transmissions, hybrid battery packs and drive motors.

Forthing has now appeared at international A-class auto shows for four consecutive years, starting with its debut at the IAA Munich show in 2023. The company says it has evolved from simply exporting products to building a broader ecosystem abroad, gaining trust through understanding local consumer needs and meeting regulatory requirements. The TK series launch signals Forthing's ambition to become a significant player in the global new-energy vehicle market, competing with established brands in Europe and beyond.
