China's Chebaihui Annual Meeting Set for January 2027 in Beijing

The Chebaihui Annual Meeting and High-Level Forum on Intelligent EV Development will take place in Beijing from January 22-24, 2027, focusing on new growth paths for China's auto industry amid a shifting growth paradigm.

China's auto industry is set to convene in Beijing next January for the Chebaihui Annual Meeting and High-Level Forum on Intelligent EV Development (2027), according to an announcement made at a media briefing on September 15. The event, themed "Based on the New Development Pattern, Achieving New Growth for the Auto Industry," will be held at the China National Convention Center from January 22 to 24, 2027.

Shifting Growth Logic

Zhang Yongwei, chairman of the Chebaihui Research Institute, said at the briefing that China's auto industry has moved beyond the stage where it relied on scale expansion for growth, entering a new cycle where the growth logic is undergoing profound transformation. The forum aims to address how the industry can find new growth drivers under this new pattern, bringing together representatives from automotive, energy, transportation, urban planning, communications, and artificial intelligence sectors.

Shi Jianhua, vice chairman of the institute and dean of the Chebai Think Tank, outlined the forum's structure, which follows a "1+1+1+N" format: one high-level forum, one high-level seminar, one international forum, and multiple thematic forums. The event will also feature three exhibitions and the release of new industry research reports from the institute. A notable addition this year is the establishment of a presidium, composed of industry experts and corporate leaders, to guide the forum's strategic direction.

Key Sessions and Topics

The high-level forum will run for a full day, split into morning and afternoon sessions. The morning session, titled "Building New Advantages for High-Quality Auto Development," will discuss global and Chinese market trends, technology evolution, and strategies for steady growth of new-energy vehicle sales, including the integration of AI into the automotive sector. The afternoon session, "New Cycle and Sustainable Growth Paths for Autos," will cover corporate strategy shifts, market expansion aligned with changing consumption patterns, technology deployment for next-generation vehicles, and internationalization strategies amid global competition.

The high-level seminar will focus on policy and industry concerns, including measures to boost auto consumption, reform of auto consumption taxes, internationalization risks and policy support, and building a resilient supply chain. It will also address infrastructure for autonomous driving at scale, the establishment of an "AI car era" system, and pathways to further low-carbon development.

The international forum will explore global cooperation, discussing opportunities and challenges in the electric and intelligent transformation, local supply chain development, and the coordination of charging and battery-swap infrastructure. Topics will also include cross-regional supply chain collaboration, vehicle-grid interaction, overseas deployment of solar-storage-charging integration, and international alignment of regulations and standards.

Several thematic forums will delve into AI+automotive, market and consumption, commercial vehicle sustainability, vehicle-energy integration, intelligent vehicles, new frontier technologies, talent for new automobiles, power batteries, and automotive services. The event will also feature three exhibition zones covering complete vehicles, supply chains, and aggregated intelligence.

According to PCauto, the forum is expected to release several major industry research reports, providing systematic analysis and forward-looking references for the industry. As the auto sector navigates a fundamental shift in its growth paradigm, the Chebaihui Annual Meeting aims to serve as a high-level platform for dialogue on achieving sustainable growth in the new cycle.
