Chery will host its 2026 global innovation conference on Oct 20 in Wuhu, Anhui province, and has signaled that the event will mark a shift from showcasing vehicle technology to detailing its transformation into an AI-driven global smart technology company, according to Chinese outlet PCauto.
The conference, themed “Change·Changing,” will see Chery unveil its “Yaoguang 2035 plan,” a long-term roadmap for the company’s technology development and business goals through 2035. In the core technology segment, Chery plans to release an automotive-specific large language model that draws on its accumulated capabilities in computing power, algorithms and data. On the hardware side, the company will showcase a vehicle-grade chip developed for physical AI world models, intended to support the underlying infrastructure for smarter vehicles.
Mobility and energy applications
Chery said its technologies will span multiple application areas. In mobility, its Lieying driver-assistance system and Lingxi smart cabin will receive new functional upgrades. The company will also debut what it describes as the industry’s first native front-installed robotaxi, along with the Lingxiao eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) device for low-altitude travel.
In the energy sector, Chery will launch the world’s first AC V2G (vehicle-to-grid) technology and a new generation of fast-charging technology. On Oct 16, Chery signed a strategic cooperation agreement with State Grid, China’s state-owned electricity utility, to begin construction of the country’s first large-scale V2G operation station for vehicle-grid interconnection.
In embodied intelligence, Chery’s Moja robot, already deployed in more than 100 scenarios including education and healthcare, will introduce its first consumer-grade family companion humanoid robot, named “Mobao,” and open global pre-orders. The company will also publicly present its smart agricultural machinery product lineup for the first time.
Experience zone and audience
The conference will feature an experience area called “Future City,” designed around daily life routines, integrating technology into real scenarios such as mobility, energy and lifestyle services to demonstrate how the technologies work in practice.
PCauto reported that more than 3,000 domestic and international guests are expected to attend, including researchers, industry chain partners, investment institutions and user representatives. The event will run alongside a global user ecosystem conference and international brand launches. After the main conference, exhibition areas will open to the public on designated citizen and family experience days.
