Chery to unveil AI strategy, 3nm chip and Robotaxi at global innovation conference

Chery will host its 2026 Global Innovation Conference on October 20 in Wuhu, where it plans to unveil an industry-first automotive large language model, a 3nm vehicle-grade chip, a native Robotaxi, and consumer humanoid robots, signaling its shift from carmaker to AI-driven tech company.

Chinese automaker Chery will hold its 2026 Global Innovation Conference on October 20 in Wuhu, Anhui province, under the theme "Change·改变" (Change). The event will showcase the company's transformation from a traditional carmaker into an AI-driven global technology company, according to the Chinese outlet First Electric (第一电动). Chery will outline its "Yaoguang 2035" plan, which maps the company's roadmap toward becoming a global intelligent technology firm over the next decade.

AI and chip announcements

A centerpiece of the conference will be the launch of what Chery calls the first industry-specific large language model for the automotive sector. The model integrates Chery's capabilities in computing power, algorithms, and data. Underpinning this AI push, Chery will also debut a vehicle-grade 3nm chip designed for physical AI world models. The company says these technologies will push the auto industry into a new phase of systematic AI-driven vehicle manufacturing.

Beyond the conference stage, Chery is accelerating deployment of its technology across multiple domains. In mobility, the company will showcase upgrades to its Falcon driver-assistance system and Lingxi smart cockpit, both of which are being rolled out across its lineup. Chery will also present a native front-loaded Robotaxi designed for global markets, and its Lingxiao eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) aircraft for urban air mobility.

Energy and robotics expansion

In the energy sector, Chery will globally debut AC V2G (vehicle-to-grid) technology and fast-charging solutions. On October 16, Chery will sign a strategic agreement with State Grid to begin construction of the first large-scale V2G charging station. In embodied AI, Chery's "Moja" robots are already deployed in more than 100 scenarios in education and healthcare. During the conference, Chery will globally launch "Mobo," its first consumer-grade humanoid robot for home companionship, and open global reservations. The company will also showcase its smart agricultural machinery lineup.

The event will feature a "Future City" exhibition built around the theme "A Day in the Life of a Future Citizen," integrating technology into realistic scenarios such as transportation, production, and daily services. Attendees will experience demonstrations including Robotaxi and robot police coordination, low-altitude mobility displays, vehicle-to-grid interactions, and service robot interactions.

Chery expects more than 3,000 guests, including academicians, executives from global companies, investors, media, dealers, suppliers, and users. The conference will also host a global user ecosystem conference, international brand launches, and user engagement activities, reinforcing Chery's globalization strategy. The Future City and exhibition areas will open to the public on subsequent citizen open days and family experience days.
