Chery signs Bosch ADAS deal for six new models in Europe, production from 2028

Chery has signed a project agreement with Bosch in Paris covering the first batch of locally developed ADAS projects for the European market, to be fitted to six all-new models with volume production planned for 2028.

Chery has signed a project agreement with Bosch in Paris covering the first batch of locally developed advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) for the European market, according to Chinese automotive outlet Gasgoo. The systems will be fitted to six all-new Chery models and are intended to accelerate the brand's localisation push in Europe.

The project covers Bosch's fourth-generation multifunction camera (MPC4) and a parking-and-driving integrated system based on that camera. Volume production is scheduled to begin in 2028, with total output expected to exceed 800,000 units over a five-year cycle.

Deepening cooperation

The signing marks a deeper stage in the cooperation between the two companies, with Bosch saying it will fully support Chery's efforts to speed up its European localisation. The project is also described as another major overseas breakthrough for Bosch, following its success in winning contracts for Chinese carmakers' export models.

To date, Bosch's MPC4 series cameras have been selected for more than 50 vehicle models, with total order volume exceeding 10 million units, the company said.

Global expansion of ADAS

Bosch said it is accelerating the overseas application of high-level assisted driving technology. Its one-stage high-level assisted driving solution has already completed testing and validation in markets including Germany, France and Japan, and will undergo road-adaptation validation in North America, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and several European Union countries within this year.

The company said it will leverage its full-stack technology advantages, global compliance capabilities and brand influence to support Chinese carmakers' high-quality exports and help build a new global intelligent mobility ecosystem.

Chery has been expanding aggressively in Europe, where it sells models under the Chery and Omoda brands. The new ADAS deal with Bosch is part of a broader push by Chinese automakers to localise technology and meet European regulatory requirements as they seek to grow their presence in the region.
