Changan Auto and Gasgoo, a Chinese automotive industry information platform, co-hosted an innovation technology expo at Changan's global research and development center on October 16, according to First Electric (D1EV). The event brought together 28 suppliers to showcase products and solutions spanning smart cockpits, intelligent driving, connected vehicle systems, and intelligent chassis, as well as emerging areas such as embodied intelligence and low-altitude flight.
The expo was structured as a combination of open technology displays and one-on-one matchmaking sessions. Changan's R&D and procurement teams met directly with suppliers to discuss technology details, verify solution compatibility, and explore potential collaboration, with a focus on domain controllers and other intelligent vehicle core components. The format was designed to shorten the path from initial contact to actual projects, according to the report.
Changan's intelligent transformation strategy
The event aligns with Changan's "Beidou Tianshu 2.0" plan, under which the automaker is repositioning itself as an intelligent, low-carbon mobility technology company. Changan has been building out its "Tianshu Intelligence" technology brand, with progress in smart cockpits, in-car AI, and autonomous driving, while also exploring forward-looking fields such as embodied intelligence and the low-altitude economy.
The expo served as a bridge between quality component makers and the automaker, helping Changan reinforce its position in the intelligent vehicle supply chain. Gasgoo, which describes its mission as connecting, cooperating, and achieving win-win outcomes, said the event demonstrated Changan's open and collaborative ecosystem approach.
Supply chain collaboration gains momentum
For suppliers, the expo offered brand exposure through multi-channel media coverage, insights into the latest technology roadmaps and procurement needs, and access to high-quality industry contacts. The one-on-one sessions gave suppliers a chance to engage directly with decision-makers at Changan, potentially opening doors into the automaker's supply chain.
The event reflects a broader trend in China's electric vehicle industry, where automakers are deepening ties with suppliers as the sector undergoes a wave of intelligent transformation. Changan, one of China's major state-owned automakers, has been expanding its EV lineup and investing heavily in software-defined vehicle capabilities in recent years, competing with the likes of BYD, Nio, and Xpeng in the domestic market.
As more intelligent resources become coupled with automaker demand, collaboration across the intelligent vehicle supply chain is expected to accelerate, the report said. Changan said it will continue to strengthen its intelligent advantages and work with industry partners to shape the future of smart mobility.
