According to Aito, the M9 has ranked first in China's vehicle segment priced above 500,000 yuan for four consecutive months. The model, co-developed by Seres and Huawei, achieved this milestone as the market for ultra-premium vehicles contracts.
Sales performance and delivery momentum
Seres' September production and sales report shows that the new-generation Aito M9 series delivered over 40,000 units in 16 weeks, with monthly deliveries exceeding 10,000 units. Data from the third-party automotive tracking team ECC Intelligence Bureau shows that in September, the M9 sold 10,390 units (based on insurance registrations), ranking first among all Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance models.
The new-generation Aito M9 was launched on May 27, 2026, offering both EREV (range-extender) and BEV (battery-electric) versions. According to a brand health study by J.D. Power for the first half of 2026, the M9 scored 87.2 points in the Net Promoter Score (NPS) ranking for large SUVs, placing first.
Market context
The overall market above 500,000 yuan is shrinking. According to J.D. Power analysis, sales in this segment fell 17.3% year-on-year in the first half of 2026. Imported brands' share has dropped to 44%, while domestic brands have risen to 37%. Among the top 10 models in this segment, five are now domestic products.
The M9's sustained leadership comes as Chinese automakers increasingly challenge established luxury players in the high-end segment. The model's success underscores the growing appeal of Huawei-backed smart features and Seres' manufacturing capabilities.
