Acer reported consolidated revenue of NT$30.18 billion (about 6.41 billion yuan, or $902 million) for August, up 38.4% from a year earlier, according to IThome. Cumulative revenue for the first eight months reached NT$214.81 billion (about 45.6 billion yuan, or $6.42 billion), up 25.1%, marking the best January-August period in 13 years.
PC revenue grew 40.5% year-on-year in August and 22.6% for the first eight months. Desktop computer revenue rose 14.5% in August and 33.4% cumulatively, with the company attributing the growth to AI applications. Chromebook revenue surged 166.3% in August and 11.7% for the year to date. Commercial product revenue increased 60.6% in August and 38.9% cumulatively.
Diversification pays off
Acer said its strategy of building multiple business engines continues to deliver results. Revenue from non-PC and non-display businesses grew 35.4% in the first eight months, now accounting for 35.0% of total revenue.
The company also highlighted its recent next@acer global launch event in Berlin, where it unveiled several innovative products, including an ultra-lightweight laptop weighing just 799 grams, a mini workstation designed for hybrid agentic AI workloads, and the return of the Packard Bell brand to the European market with a full lifestyle product line.
In related news, Acer's global new product launch event for IFA 2026 is scheduled for September 2 at 17:00 Beijing time. The company also reported first-half net profit attributable to shareholders of NT$2.874 billion, up 79.6% year-on-year, and second-quarter revenue of NT$85.296 billion, up 28.2%, also a 13-year high for the quarter.
