Xpeng's MONA L03, the latest model in its MONA family, has been unveiled with a choice of pure-electric (BEV) and range-extender (EREV) powertrains, plus a claimed 1,500 TOPS of onboard computing power, according to Autohome.
The design follows the MONA family's youthful, sporty language, featuring a low, wide stance with a fastback roofline, a fully covered front hood, and pronounced rear fenders. The BEV version adds a 102-litre front trunk with a drain hole for easy cleaning.
Side details include hidden water cuts, frameless doors, flush windows, semi-hidden door handles, frameless mirrors, and a high-gloss black lower surround. At the rear, a new star-ring light bar uses 288 ultra-red LEDs and integrates a small blue light for driver-assist status. The car achieves a drag coefficient of 0.228 Cd, which Xpeng says contributes about 59.3 km of extra range.
Smart cabin and storage
Inside, the MONA L03 features a 15.6-inch 2.5K central touchscreen and a 26.8-inch W-HUD head-up display that projects speed, navigation, and driver-assist status, with adaptive brightness and height. The cabin is minimalist, with hidden air vents and 256-colour ambient lighting, but no physical buttons on the center console—a choice that may divide opinion.
Storage is generous: the boot offers 539 litres normally, enough for seven 20-inch carry-on cases (though rear visibility is compromised with that load), expanding to 1,640 litres with the rear seats folded, fitting up to 16 cases. There are 40 storage spaces and 23 expansion points across the cabin, plus a 10-litre drawer under the rear seat. Front seats offer ventilation, heating, and massage, with a zero-gravity passenger seat.
The MONA L03 is positioned as Xpeng's smart-tech-focused model, aiming to shed any budget-car feel with high-end hardware and a quiet, connected cabin. The dual powertrain strategy—offering both BEV and EREV—broadens its appeal, though pricing and launch dates were not disclosed in the report.
