Chinese automaker Voyah has launched its new flagship MPV, the Dreamer 9, in China with six variants across three trims, according to Chinese outlet 电动邦 (Dian Dong Bang). The model starts at 419,900 yuan (about $59,100) and tops out at 529,900 yuan (about $74,600), with both plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and battery-electric (BEV) powertrains available. All prices are Chinese guide prices before taxes and incentives.
The Dreamer 9 is positioned for high-end hospitality, business reception and family travel, and claims to be the world's first MPV with a retractable hood ornament. The design language integrates the ornament with a light-emitting grille and full-width taillights to strengthen the visual identity of a Chinese flagship MPV.
Every version of the Dreamer 9 uses what Voyah calls a full-domain L3 architecture, incorporating Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5 driver assistance system, the HarmonySpace 6 cabin, a full-vehicle 800V electrical platform and the company's "Tiger Base P" chassis. The 800V system allows the PHEV version's 65kWh battery to charge from 20% to 80% in about 12 minutes using 5C ultra-fast charging, while the BEV version packs a 120kWh battery with 16 layers of safety protection.
Two cabin personalities
Voyah splits the Dreamer 9 lineup into two main characters. The Ultra trim is billed as a "family technology castle," with eight-system safety redundancy, seven-layer frontal protection and five-layer rear-impact protection, plus standard three-chamber air suspension, dual-valve EDC dampers and the Huawei ADAS. The second-row seats rotate, recline to zero-gravity positions and offer mechanical massage. The cabin includes a 21.4-inch ceiling screen, a 13-litre dual-door fridge with heating and cooling, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) external power discharge.
The Ultra+ trim targets business buyers as a "luxury business lounge," adding a light-emitting grille, dual-color DLP headlights, a welcome light carpet, suede headliner and ambient lighting. It comes with electric privacy curtains for the second row and optional smart dimming side windows. All seats offer ventilation, heating and massage.
The second-row seats rotate at 45, 90 and 180 degrees, and combined with a folding front row, adjustable third-row backrests and long slide rails, the cabin can switch between family interaction, business meetings and long-distance rest modes. The audio system uses 35 speakers from Voyah's in-house VOYAH Sound brand.
Sales momentum and family expansion
Voyah says the Dreamer 9 received more than 30,000 small deposits within 48 hours of pre-sales opening, with the top-spec Li Zun trim accounting for over half of orders. More than 20,000 orders came from existing Voyah owners trading in or adding a vehicle. The company says the Dreamer family has now sold over 200,000 units in four years, making it the best-selling Chinese MPV series.
With the Dreamer 9 joining the lineup, Voyah's MPV family now covers the 300,000 to 700,000 yuan (about $42,300 to $98,600) price band, giving the state-owned brand a broader footprint in China's premium MPV segment as it competes with the likes of Denza, Zeekr and imported rivals.
