Roewe, the SAIC-owned brand, has opened pre-orders for the Jiayue 07, a large five-seat EREV (range-extender) SUV priced at 137,800 to 152,800 yuan (about $19,400 to $21,500) as a Chinese guide price before taxes and incentives, according to NetEase Auto. The model pairs a long pure-electric range with an AI-heavy cockpit built around the Doubao assistant and Momenta R7 driving-assistance hardware.
The range-extender powertrain uses a 44.2 kWh battery in the version with the longest range, giving a quoted pure-electric range of up to 320 km (199 miles) on China's CLTC cycle, a more optimistic test than WLTP - equivalent to roughly 260-270 km (162-168 miles) on the stricter WLTP cycle (est.). Roewe also quotes a combined range of 1,480 km (920 miles) on the same cycle and a 30-to-80 percent fast-charge time of 15 minutes. The idea is to cover daily commutes on battery power alone, with the range extender available for longer trips.
Doubao and Momenta in one cockpit
The Jiayue 07's headline feature is the Doubao in-car assistant, integrated through a native AI architecture with more than 2,000 SOA (service-oriented architecture) interfaces. That lets the system act on everyday speech to adjust the seats, climate, windows, refrigerator and lights, rather than requiring users to work through individual menus. A rotating physical robot responds with expressions, gestures and sound. Voice recognition covers four seating zones, supports 90 seconds of conversation without needing to wake the assistant, and can mix 12 Chinese dialects and 22 foreign languages. The system also remembers the preferences of individual family members, handles vague destination searches and multi-stop route planning, and can take part in casual chat or content creation.
Inside, there are dual 15.6-inch 2.5K screens with separate front and rear entertainment zones, image transfer between screens and wireless phone projection, plus an adjustable rear entertainment screen. A 20-speaker audio system and 256-color ambient lighting round out the cabin. The exterior, led by designer Josef Kaban, uses full-width light bars at the front and rear and strong vertical corner lines, with six body colours offered.
For assisted driving, the Jiayue 07 uses Momenta's R7 world model paired with an XHEART X7 large-model chip and a sensor suite of one lidar, one 4D millimetre-wave radar, 12 ultrasonic sensors and 11 cameras, covering urban roads, highways and parking. Roewe says Doubao and Momenta are linked at the system level, so the driver can change the following distance, set a new navigation route or switch the assistance style using spoken language. The company stresses this remains a driver-assistance function: the driver must keep watching the road and remains responsible.
Space and comfort for family buyers
The Jiayue 07 is 4,900 mm long, 1,910 mm wide and 1,753 mm tall, with a 2,908 mm wheelbase. Luggage capacity is 834 litres, plus an 81-litre underfloor compartment and 41 storage spaces in total. Up front, the seats are dual zero-gravity units with electric leg rests, lumbar support, heating and a 16-point massage function. The rear backrest can recline to 143 degrees and the right rear seat adds an electric leg rest. A two-way refrigerator works from -6 to 50 degrees Celsius, makes ice in about 10 minutes, and supports remote scheduling and forgotten-item reminders.
The Jiayue 07 rides on an AI-assisted mCDC comfort chassis with preview capability that adjusts the suspension according to the road ahead. Actual ride filtering, body control and noise when the range extender cuts in still need to be verified in later test drives, according to the same report.
