Jetour, the SUV brand under Chinese automaker Chery, has opened pre-sales for its new Traveller 7 and the electrified Traveller 7 C-DM, according to Chinese outlet 电动邦 (DianDongBang). The petrol-powered Traveller 7 starts at 149,900 yuan (about $21,100) and tops out at 179,900 yuan (about $25,300), while the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) Traveller 7 C-DM is priced from 159,900 yuan (about $22,500) to 179,900 yuan. All figures are Chinese guide prices before taxes and incentives.
The launch marks the third anniversary of the Traveller series, which Jetour says has accumulated global sales of more than 570,000 units since its debut. The brand claims to have entered 100 countries and regions in eight years, ranking first among Chinese-brand SUVs in 16 markets and leading the boxy-SUV segment in 13 countries. Jetour's total global sales stand at 2.51 million vehicles, with boxy models contributing over 770,000 units.
Two powertrains, one platform
The Traveller 7 uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which Jetour calls its Kunpeng Power combination. The Traveller 7 C-DM pairs a 1.5-litre turbo engine with three electric motors to deliver all-wheel drive in both charged and depleted states, a setup the company describes as a true four-wheel-drive system. It carries a 45.12 kWh battery supplied by CATL, which Jetour says is protected against water, fire and impact.
The PHEV version claims a CLTC electric-only range of 251 km (about 156 miles) and a combined range of 1,400 km (about 870 miles), with combined fuel consumption as low as 1.08 litres per 100 km. Note that the CLTC figure is roughly 15-20% more optimistic than the WLTP standard, so a WLTP estimate would be around 201-213 km (est.).
Both versions feature Jetour's Falcon 500 driver-assistance suite, which uses a Horizon Journey 6M chip and an end-to-end model to support highway NOA (navigate-on-autopilot) and all-scenario parking assistance. Inside, the cabin runs the TOUROS 3.3 AI system with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8255 chip, 24 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage, an iFlytek Spark AI assistant and a 15.6-inch 2.5K central touchscreen.
Boxy design, off-road capability
The Traveller 7 keeps the brand's boxy "square and circle" design language, with a raised bonnet, repositioned lettering, a redesigned front bumper and round headlamps flanking a new grille and light bar. Body dimensions are 4,827 mm long, 2,006 mm wide and 1,875 mm tall, with a 2,800 mm wheelbase. New colours include Sunshine Gold and Misty Ridge Green, and the rear-mounted "travel backpack" adds both utility and styling.
Jetour equips the Traveller 7 with an XWD fully automatic intelligent four-wheel-drive system that requires no stop to switch modes on complex terrain. The cabin features cloud-like seats, eight-point pneumatic massage, a queen's co-driver seat with spa-level massage and a 23-speaker Boya sound system. The brand also promotes a travel ecosystem with more than 10,000 accessory items, official JMK customisation kits, 360 alliance partners and over 3,000 offline service stations worldwide.
The Traveller 7 and Traveller 7 C-DM extend Jetour's push into the "city, off-road and travel" segment, offering buyers a choice between petrol and hybrid power, advanced driver assistance and rugged four-wheel-drive capability in one package.
