Geely's 2027 Boyue cuts entry price, standardizes tech as it hits 10-year mark

Geely launched the 2027 Boyue in China with a starting guide price of 85,900 yuan (about $12,100), trimming the entry price to 78,900 yuan (about $11,100) for a limited period. The model drops the base trim and makes six smart features standard across all variants, aiming to simplify family buyers' choices.

Geely has launched the 2027 Boyue compact SUV in Jingdezhen, China, marking the model's tenth anniversary with a pricing and configuration strategy that drops the entry price below 80,000 yuan (about $11,300) while making six smart features standard across all four trims. The official guide price range is 85,900 to 106,900 yuan (about $12,100 to $15,100), but a limited-time offer valid until December 31, 2026, reduces prices to between 78,900 and 99,900 yuan (about $11,100 to $14,100), according to Chinese outlet 电动邦 (EV Kingdom).

The move is a notable shift in the sub-100,000 yuan (about $14,100) family SUV segment, where automakers often use a stripped-down base trim to advertise a low price, then push buyers to pay more for useful equipment. The 2027 Boyue instead eliminates the low-spec variant and equips every version with 540-degree high-definition surround-view camera, a 14.6-inch touchscreen, the Flyme Auto 2 smart cockpit, remote control via smartphone app, a digital Bluetooth key, and a power sunroof with anti-pinch protection. In total, the company says more than 70 practical features are standard.

Design and comfort

The exterior draws on traditional Chinese architecture, with a 'four waters return to hall' grille, a 'flying eaves' full-width front light bar, and a 'long scroll of flowing clouds' rear light bar. Four paint colors are offered—cloisonné blue, galaxy silver, jade porcelain white, and ink gray—while the interior comes in three themes: auspicious orange, fortune gray, and festive rice. The wheelbase is 2,707 mm, and Geely claims an interior space utilization rate of 85.4 percent, with 37 storage compartments and a 585-liter trunk plus 75 liters of hidden space. Folding the rear seats creates a 1,930 mm long rest area.

Front seats include electric adjustment, heating, ventilation, massage, memory, and welcome functions, and the steering wheel is heated—a rarity in this class. The suspension uses independent front and rear setups tuned by a Sino-European team, and the turning radius is 5.5 meters. The powertrain carries over as a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, with WLTC fuel consumption of 6.64 liters per 100 km and compatibility with regular 92-octane gasoline.

Smart features and safety

The Flyme Auto 2 cockpit, which Geely says is gaining rapid adoption across its lineup, offers a phone-like interface that is easy for elderly and young users to operate. The AI voice assistant covers 95 percent of vehicle control scenarios, and the customized Amap navigation includes red-light countdown and oncoming-vehicle warnings. Smartphone connectivity supports FlymeLink, CarLink, and HUAWEI HiCar, while the digital Bluetooth key can be shared with up to five family members. A 50-watt wireless fast-charging pad with cooling is also included.

The 2027 Boyue is built on Geely's GEEA 3.0 electronic architecture, which consolidates 14 controllers into two. The body uses a four-layer anti-corrosion process and meets standards for more than 60 countries, according to the company. Passive safety includes 70.3 percent high-strength steel and a 1,500 MPa hot-formed boron steel door ring. Active safety features number 16, covering front, side, and rear scenarios, including door-opening warning, lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. Geely claims a 36.4-meter braking distance from 100 km/h and a 76 km/h moose test speed.

The Boyue series has sold over 2.47 million units in its decade on the market, and from January to September 2026 it was China's best-selling fuel SUV. With new-energy vehicle penetration rising, Geely is using the 2027 Boyue's standard equipment and aggressive pricing to defend its position in the remaining fuel-vehicle market, according to 电动邦.
