Drivers Cheng Congfu and Yu Kuai of the Audi Sport Asia Team X Works have locked up the 2026 China Cup title with two rounds to spare, following a podium result at the Beijing street race of the GT World Challenge Asia, according to Sina Auto.
In the second race of the fifth round, held on the streets of Beijing, the pair finished third overall and first in the Silver class. Yu Kuai maintained the Silver-class lead during the driver handover, and Cheng Congfu improved their position after taking over, crossing the line second overall. However, a five-second penalty for exceeding the pit-lane speed limit dropped them to third in the final classification. In the first race of the round, the duo had finished 11th after being handed a drive-through penalty for speeding under a full-course yellow flag.
Team-mates' mixed weekend
The sister Audi Sport Asia Team X Works entry of Jaxon Evans and Andrés Pato endured a tougher weekend. They retired from the first race after a collision with the barriers, and in the second race they were running fourth before losing positions in an incident and receiving a penalty for a yellow-flag infringement, ultimately finishing 15th.
With the Beijing round complete, Cheng and Yu have extended their lead in the Silver-class standings. The season finale will take place in Shanghai, where the pair still have a chance to challenge for the overall GT3 drivers' championship, having risen to third in the points table.
The result underscores the competitiveness of the Audi customer racing programme in Asia and gives the Chinese duo momentum heading into the final event of the season.
